Overview:

This project aimed to create a dynamic kinetic typography video that visually amplifies the song’s meaning and emotion. I selected Aespa’s original song, “Hold On Tight,” produced for the 2023 Tetris movie soundtrack. The track incorporates the iconic Tetris theme, and its electronic, nostalgic beat adds visual impact even for those unfamiliar with its origin. The visuals draw inspiration from the 1984 Tetris release, emphasizing geometric blocks, grids, and the look of a monochrome CRT monitor. The typography reflects the emotion and meaning of the lyrics, while Aespa’s avatars are animated with a pixelated style to complement the CRT aesthetic.
